In May 2024, Coucou Suzette launched a brand-new accessory to join the family of hair clips, pins and socks: welcome to beaded bags!
Like all our creations, they find their roots in the memories of Juliette, the brand's founder.
As a little girl, she loved sitting on the lap of her great-aunt Michelle, “Mimi”, always dressed in gorgeous floral-print dresses, and playing with her wonderful jewels; colorful charms that fascinated her to no end. An admiration that greatly amused her beloved Mimi.
In fact, this inspiration can be seen in Juliette's very first creations, even before the creation of Coucou Suzette, which were nothing other than pearl necklaces!
Plus Juliette has always had an immense passion for flea markets, where she happily hunts for the most beautiful vintage wonders. The beaded bags are therefore also a tribute to these retro treasures found on hot summer Sundays.
To create them, she loved to pick beads sorted by color from large drawers as if in a haberdashery - a real adult playground! Juliette then assembled them to create pretty, colorful combos with flower motifs, a nod to our hair clips, and the bags of her dreams were born!
Finally, everything was passed on to our manufacturers and, as with each of our creations, it took several come-and-goes to get at the perfect prototypes: changing the beads for a lighter bag, enlarging the handle to suit everyone, adjusting the colors and making custom beads...
The end result: little jewels of accessories that are the masterpieces of all our summer outfits, whether on vacation or at the office!
