Behind the Scenes of the Flower Umbrellas Photoshoot
Share
In October 2026, Coucou Suzette launched its very first umbrellas!
Just like with every creation, our goal is to fill them with as much colour and joie de vivre as possible. Say goodbye to boring, flavourless umbrellas and hello to our flower umbrellas, here to brighten up even the greyest, rainiest days. These beauties are inspired by our iconic Sunflower and Sakura hair claw clips, which need no introduction. What a joy to watch their petals bloom at the very first drop of rain!
For our musical-loving photoshoot team, the theme was an obvious choice: colourful raincoats, polished shoes, and off we go, dancing through the streets of Paris à la Singin’ in the Rain or The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, by our beloved Jacques Demy.
No sooner said than done, Fanny and Louise headed to Montmartre to scout locations and have fun imagining the poses for our future models. Quite the funny spectacle for the tourists passing by!
On the morning of the shoot, our dancer models, Shaïna and David, enjoy a croissant while getting pampered and slipping into their finest outfits.
Once ready, they take centre stage and play their parts to perfection, performing one choreography after another in the streets of Paris. Lamppost, railing, staircase… The city becomes one giant playground for striking poses and pulling off all kinds of moves.
Meanwhile, Clotilde and Louise find themselves chatting away with an accordion player who happened to be passing by… The whole Parisian cliché continues behind the scenes!
For once, we were actually hoping for grey skies, and yet the sun is shining bright. What can we say? It must be the magic of our flower umbrellas! The moment they come out, they seem to make the sun want to peek out too.
And then, a quick shoot beneath one of Paris’s most iconic landmarks: the classic Parisian kiosk, of course! Fanny transforms into a full-blown choreographer (a lifelong dream), miming the steps for our two dancers.
And that’s a wrap! We pack away our beautiful yellow-and-pink shooting gear and carefully store it until the rainy days come back around.
